God Breaks What He Takes
I just read this passage from “The Normal Christian Life” by Watchman Nee. I’ve never thought of it this way and it really brought some illumination to my heart.
I hope it encourages you like it did me:
“When the Galilean boy brought his bread to the lord, what did the Lord do with it? He broke it. God will always break what is offered to him. He breaks what he takes,...

Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics
I grew up listening to a lot of music with this little label on it. I’m not proud of it. It’s just what I was drawn to. I was a teenage boy, enchanted by this gritty world of urban life of which I had absolutely no experience. I lived and breathed hip hop music.
As I’ve aged, I’ve become quite a bit more sensitive to explicit lyrics in my music. I rarely listen to new...

Reflections On Israel (Pt.2)
“I have come to build and to be rebuilt”
Our tour guide Salo told us that this is what the Jews say when they return to live in Israel. I found this statement absolutely profound. It made me ask myself, “Have I come to build or do I just focus on being rebuilt?”
First, A Little History
There are a multitude of scriptures pointing to the restoration and return of a...

Reflections On Israel (Pt.1)
We are familee!!
As I reflect back on my trip to Israel I think about how perfectly God crafted our group. While I couldn’t see it in the beginning, God was forming a group of people that would become tightly knit, like-minded, and forever changed by an amazing journey.
I remember the very first meeting before the trip and as I looked at the people that would be coming I thought, wow this...

Song of the Day
“Call On The Life” by Further Seems Forever
The third and final album Hide Nothing by the band Further Seems Forever is one of my all-time favorite Christian Rock albums (or call them a rock band with Christian members if you want to get into semantics).
Originally from Pompano Beach, FL, these guys had 3 different lead singers on all 3 of their albums before disbanding in 2006....
Facepalm of the Day
So yesterday I get forwarded an email from a co-worker. You know the type, those alarmist emails written in 24pt font using 3 different colors claiming that the world is going to end.
This particular email was entitled “Cancer Update”. It went on to state quite officially (in huge, bright letters) how Johns Hopkins has released new information about how cancer spreads and the effects...
My Top iPhone Games
I picked up the iPhone 4 the day it came out after suffering through the past 3 months without an iPhone. Don’t ask what happened with my iPhone 3G. It was a dark time in my life and I refuse to relive it here. I’ve healed and moved on.
To celebrate, I thought I would share my favorite iPhone games. These games are ridiculously addicting and you will waste hours of your life...

When Nobody's Looking
I consider myself a pretty big integrity guy. I honor people that place a high value on integrity as I try to do so in my life. However I’ve noticed that there is a difference between maintaining integrity in front of people and maintaining it when nobody’s looking. The former is much easier than the latter. I had an opportunity to test out my integrity when nobody was looking this...
Experiencing Father's Embrace Mini-Review
I had heard about this book by so many people. I finally got around to it and boy am I glad I did. This is one of the most profound and powerful books I have ever read. The revelation of the Father’s heart for us and the issues in our life that cause us to view Him the wrong way was amazing!
This should be Christianity 101. So many Christians are not walking as the sons and daughters they...

Just because...
Just because you’re not sleeping, it doesn’t mean that you’re awake.
Just because you don’t believe, it doesn’t mean it isn’t true.
Just because you didn’t get the joke, it doesn’t mean I’m not funny.
If It's Free It's For Me
I just started a new book called Free: The Future of a Radical Price by Chris Anderson. I’m working on launching a site (http://www.dayshout.com) based on the “freemium” model. This book was highly recommended and explores the online revolution of offering products/services for free, how to grow the economy and how to compete with others that are offering their products/services...
